Generate First, Then Govern: AI Waste Overwhelms the Internet, Tech Giants Finally Take Action for a Clean-Up
According to The New York Times, low-quality AI content is rampant: Google has a 'glue pizza' recipe, Amazon is filled with fake biographies, and Facebook is full of 'shrimp Jesus' pictures. With the popularity of chatbots, digital waste is spreading across platforms, polluting the information ecosystem. Silicon Valley tech companies are beginning to clean up and fight back, but much of this garbage originates from their own AI tools, such as Spotify deleting a large amount of AI-generated content last year.
